Sixth Form Careers

The information below is designed for students, teachers, parents and employers.

Birchwood High School is committed to meeting the national Quality in Careers Standard and is currently working towards accreditation for the delivery of a high quality, impartial careers programme to all our students.

At Birchwood Sixth Form we are committed to preparing our students for their future beyond the school environment.  We offer a planned programme of Career and Work Related Education (CWRE) built around the Unifrog online platform which encourages students to explore all of their post 18 options. Our careers programme is reviewed annually.

Students have access to one-to-one guidance and support through Mrs Crimes who is based in the Sixth Form.

Work Experience

All students in Y12 undertake a week of work experience during July.  Students are encouraged to find their own placement so that they learn how to communicate with employers.

Mrs Crimes is available to offer support if a student requires it.

Employers wishing to offer a work experience placement should contact Mrs Crimes using the contact details above.
