A huge thank you to everyone who donated to our recent Food Bank appeal. The donations were gratefully received.

Cheque Presentation for House

This year has been a huge success for the House System as we have managed to raise a total of £12254.89 which is over double our record highest in the previous 10 years!
This money has been raised from events such as the Colour Run, non- uniform days, sponge a teacher activities and lots more!
Thank you to everybody who has helped to contribute towards this total. The charities that the money has gone towards were all very grateful!

House Summer Rewards Activity

Over 300 students were invited to attend the Summer Rewards Activity which was an inflatable funfair! These activities are put on at the end of every term and are normally for students who achieve over 100 House Points during that particular term. However, this time in order to make the event more accessible for all year groups, we have allocated the top 20% of each Year group in terms of House Points and those students were invited to attend.

As you can see from the images the students thoroughly enjoyed the activity that was put on.

Well done to all students who managed to secure a place!

Hadham wins House Cup for 2019-2020

We celebrated Hadham (Red) winning the House cup with our annual Balloon Pop.

Last year we raised £5,643.03 for the following charities:
International charity – Sparkle Malawi
National – The Firefighters Charity
Local - Essex and Herts Air Ambulance
We have decided to raise funds for the same charities again this year, as our fund raising efforts were cut short due to lockdown.

Essex and Herts Air Ambulance

On the 28 November 2019, the House Captain team embarked on a journey to the air base in North Weald to meet up with our local charity; the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance. This is an amazing charity as they help so many local people with limited support from the Government. Local donations, including the £1,555.33 raised by Birchwood High School last year, is the only way they can fund this operation which saves countless lives.

Halloween

On Wednesday 23 October we had our first House Charity day which was Halloween themed. All of our students were in non-uniform and some staff and Sixth Form students were dressed up in Halloween costumes!
There were plenty of events that took place such as the traditional Halloween cake stall, pumpkin competition and spooky song off.
The winners of the Pumpkin Competition were:
Bat = Erin Hinken and Frankie Gilder
Tree = Daisy Evans, Grace Limrick and Holly Thompson
A massive well done to them for getting involved! House points have been awarded for this.
At lunch time the Sixth Form House Captains ran the Halloween live maze. This maze was held in the drama studio and included live actors. The Year 7- 10 students who took part, thoroughly enjoyed it.
