Parents, Staff and Friends Association
This term we will be launching our new Parents, Staff and Friends Association (PSFA). This will bring together members of our school community who are keen to support with organised events, develop business links and raise money for the school.
The benefits of having a school PSFA are enormous. Our previous Parents in Partnership group did a wonderful job and we are extremely grateful to them. It is hoped that the new PSFA will build on their work whilst providing the additional opportunity for staff and friends of the school to also be involved.
Initial ideas for activities and events include a wine tasting evening, quiz night, barn dance, family bingo evening, 100 Club and second-hand uniform sale. If you are replacing items of your child’s uniform and the old items are still in fairly good condition, please consider donating maroon blazers, maroon jumpers and skirts as stock for our second hand stall. Clean items of second hand uniform can be dropped in at our Visitor Reception.
The inaugural AGM for the Birchwood PSFA will be held at 6.30pm in the Birchwood Development Centre (BDC) on Thursday 15 March. Anyone with an interest in becoming involved is invited to attend. This will be an open and friendly meeting and will include voting to form a committee. Once the formalities have been completed we will be discussing ideas and agreeing next steps. Refreshments will be provided!
If you would like to become involved with the PSFA, whether on a regular or ad hoc basis, or you are interested in keeping up to date with developments, please click on the following link to register your interest:
Being involved with the PSFA is a great opportunity to get to know the school better and to meet and get to know other parents.
